I came across this the other day and it made me laugh. The young man featured is now one of Britain’s most famous anglers, Jeremy Wade, a real adventurer. Although not everyone’s taste I’m a fan, his TV series can be a little over dramatic but he is compelling on camera and he’s bright, good for engaging a younger audience. Fishing from a Jag, perfect.
Traveling light.

I like that picture. From the good old days when every pool might hold a monster. So much more mystery than the young angler can find to-day.
His programmes have to be made dramatic for a none angling T.V. audience but I find them very watch-able.
Thanks for sharing the picture.

Morning shaun,
I totally agree.
I still haven’t got to use those boillies and paste yet.
I might be on the Severn next week, rolling a large smelly bait may be the answer if the river isn’t ripping through!
If it’s fishable I will give it a go.

Is that Jeremy Wade or Inspector Morse? Looks like that a Jag?! MK2?
The shows are a bit OTT (I’d rather watch a guy dace fishing for 30 minutes………..(!)……… but I appreciate they have to appeal to non-anglers. He did some “rougher round the edges” show on Discovery (Jungle Hooks etc) before the ITV ones. The production values weren’t as high but they were superb and not quite as sensationalist. He’s an excellent presenter. And it’s so refreshing to see an articulate, skilled and passionate angler on TV. No, Robson. That doesn’t mean you.
